WHAT HAPPENED in the Zenit-Spartak match? 

At the end of the Russian Cup match between Zenit and Spartak, violent scenes took place in St. Petersburg. Match footage from 1 win is circulating on social media. The brawl began after Spartak striker Quincy Promes collided with Zenit player Wilmar Barrios in stoppage time. Both groups of players were involved when kicks were dealt, with coaches and staff also running onto the pitch. Rodrigao Prado of Zenit was seen kicking Spartak players in front of the referee as the match official lost control of the match completely.

The referee showed a total of six red cards, with three players sent off by each team. Malcolm, Barrios and Rodrigo lost to the hosts, and Alexander Sobolev, Shamar Nicholson and Alexander Selikhov were fired from Spartak. Strangely enough, all the excluded players were on the bench and not actively playing in the match when the incident occurred.
