Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya recently opened up about his training and mindset ahead of UFC 287.
The upcoming UFC PPV will mark Adesanya's attempt to redeem himself against longtime contender Alex Pereira. The Poatan now has three wins over The Last Style Bender in kickboxing and MMA.
As for The Great One, Adesanya explained that he appreciates the presence of Volkanovski, who came to train and help."Alex just came in just to catch the vibe and just be a part of it, so I can feel the energy," Adesanya said. “And I take from him too, just his presence here, you know? We nurture each other, so I'm very grateful, I had a lot of solid guys helping me with this camp."
At UFC 281, Adesanya lost in the middleweight division for the first time in his professional MMA career. The kickboxing maestro seemed to be on his way to a decision victory over Poatan when a killer left hook late in the fifth round changed everything.
The result and the fight itself was very similar to Adesanya's second kickboxing loss to Pereira in 2017.
